JPCatholic student Claire Kelly was hit by a car on Tuesday while crossing Escondido Boulevard, from Wells Fargo towards the school. While Claire did have the right of way, and the walk symbol was on, the driver of the car claims she was at fault. However, the police received witness reports that the pedestrian crossing light was on.
Those in Claire’s townhouse section were informed of the accident while she was in the hospital. Claire joked that the accident was worth the free chocolate pudding at the hospital. She returned to Latitude that evening with no broken bones or major injuries.
Students should take this as a reminder to cross carefully, even when the walk symbol is on.
