JPCatholic will have a new on-campus counselor starting on April 1st.
The new counselor, Maria Iniguez, is a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in social work from the University of Southern California.
“She was interviewed by myself, along with Dr. Connolly and Mrs. Connolly, and we all believed she would be a great addition,” said Deb Culbertson, Dean of Student Success.
She will be available to work with students eight hours a week on Mondays and Fridays.
“Mary Hill, who has been serving our students, will no longer be doing so,” said Mrs. Culbertson. Students who have been working with her will be asked if they want to continue with Iniguez in the Spring.
“We would like to serve all students whenever they have needs,” said Mrs. Culbertson. If there is a greater student need than available hours, more hours will be requested of Iniguez. Any students looking for services should contact Mrs. Culbertson directly.
